
Biography
Shelby Stewart is a filmmaker currently based in Middle Tennessee, who has been involved in video production since 2015. Her focus is in writing and directing narrative films, but she has experience in television producing and writing, production management, assistant directing, editing, and numerous other roles across all levels of production.
Shelby graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in December 2020 with degrees in Video and Film Production and Media & Entertainment with a concentration in Interdisciplinary Media. She currently works for TikTok as a Content Moderator, while also writing short and feature-length screenplays.
Shelby's latest short film, the autobiographical drama,"To Be Traumatized," released in April 2022 and can be watched on YouTube or Vimeo. The short is an Official Selection of the Glendale International Film Festival and the Los Angeles Student Film Festival.
While in college, Shelby's debut short film, "Outside," was selected for MTSU's First Look 2019 showcase. It won the Collage Creative Expression Award and MTSU Film Guild's Student Film of the Year for 2019. During her time at MTSU, she served in leadership roles in the student-run television station, MT10, and was a member of the Film Guild and Women in Film.
Shelby's work across film and television has established her as a dedicated and hardworking filmmaker with boundless creativity and talent. She hopes to move to Los Angeles to further her career as a screenwriter and director in the coming years.

"Outside," won and was selected for the Fall 2019 issue of Collage: A Journal of Creative Expression, a student-produced, bi-annual magazine of creative arts.

"Outside" was selected for MTSU First Look, a showcase of student work at the end of the year screened at the Belcourt Theatre in Nashville, Tennessee.

"Outside" was voted as the choice film of the academic year by the members of the organization.
